Caring for your Swiss Cheese Plant

This plant sounds delicious, doesn’t it? The holes in the leaves mimic those in the cheese, hence the name.

Monstera deliciosa, also know as the Swiss cheese plant, is a species of flowering plant native to tropical forests of southern Mexico, south to Panama. It is one of the most sought after plants in Singapore. It looks good for the gram as well as your home.

Requiring a high humidity and moderately moist soil, we naturally provide them with a suitable living condition. Give them a filtered shady area, scattered light but never under direct sunlight. You won’t want to have fried cheese plants.

They need a lightweight soil to maximise their growth and water them about once a week with a little bit of fertilizer.

A holey leaf is their defining quality.
